He says that I talk too much!!!

Tyler just came to me and said, "Mom, you have been talking too much and it's a tiny bit annoying me." Mind you, he just woke up from a 2 hour nap and hasn't seen me or heard me since he went down. How can an (almost) 4 year old get to me so much!!! And as a side note, HE has not shut his yapper in 15 minutes. I constant blabber has been going on...
Oh, and a funny shout out to Ty as well. Maybe I should title this Tyler's babblings...Anyway, we were at Michael's today peruzing the aisles and we got to the Halloween stuff. Cousin Lexi was with us and the poor girl was really freaked out by them all. Who wouldn't be, they had a life-sized dead gal in all white w/ red eyes reaching out and calling OOOOOOOH! So she's flipping and saying she doesn't want any ghosts to get her. So I tell her there's no such thing and blah blah. And Ty says, "Well, actually Lox, there is one ghost. The Holy Ghost. But he's a good guy and helps us. Right mom?" Through my hysteric laughing I said yes and then felt so proud of my little guy. He DOES listen at church!!!

My boys

I came to 2 realizations yesterday. Tyler talks ALOT and has no sound control. And Chase is like an untamed insane wild horse. I love them both despite these sometimes annoying traits. And man do they make me laugh. As I sit here Tyler is chasing Chase around w/ his makeshift bow and arrow. It's a clothes hanger and a music stick. And then somehow a jelly bracelet is also involved. We were at a friends house Friday night, and Dallin has a real toy bow and arrow and that's all I've heard about. Thank goodness his birthday is coming.
Well, just a quick thought for the day.
I must quickly run upstairs to avoid being "shootered."

Happy Birthday Baby Jake!

Don't the little yellow ear muffs kill you? I thought they were so cute!!

Today a year ago a little miracle was born and man I can't believe it's been ONLY a year!! I keep thinking of how I was feeling today a year ago and it was such a mix of emotions. I was totally freaking out and nervous of how the birth would go, but excited to meet my little nephew. It was such a LOOOONG day, sitting at HUP anxiously anticipating Travis' call that Jake was here. Mom, the kids and I were strolling around the campus of UPENN when Trav called and said it was go time. I remember the panic and excitement I felt rushing back to the hospital hoping and praying that everything would just be all right. Then he was here!! It wasn't easy to keep him stable, but they did and that little stinker was taken to his new home next door at CHOP. It wasn't for several hours later that we got to see him. Just looking at him I just couldn't believe all that was required to keep him alive. He was so adorable w/ that full head of hair. I was so thankful for him and so happy to have him here. Jenny and Trav were so excited and exhausted and proud of their little man.

It's weird to think that every birthday I will think of him as baby Jake, that he'll never grow up. But that six months with him was so special to me personally. This day will always be a day that I look fondly back upon. I hadn't ever witnessed a miracle until Aug. 21, 2006. I am so grateful to have been a small part of that day.

Today my mom is in town and Jenny wants to do somehting fun. We were thinking the beach, but this crazy rain has decided that for us. We're hoping to do a museum or something in NJ. If any of you have a chance to leave a comment on the Meyerson's blog it'd sure cheer them up!

Happy Birthday Jakers! Love ya tons, Aunt Cyd

Braving the Six Flags Wild Safari

So to help Jenny pass the time on this 6th month "anniversary" of Jake's death, we took the kiddos to the Safari. The kids really had a good time. We let them out of the carseats which was really good enough. But to add huge animals running around was just the icing on the cake. We had 3 giraffe's hanging out with us and here are some videos of it. The first one is a giraffe dissing us, but the kids reactions were so funny I had to post it. Then the second one is the giraffe sticking it's nose in our moon roof and then licking our window. It's a little dark which is why I'm explaining it. Hilarious!!!

HEY DUM DUM

The movie "The Night at the Museum" is Tyler's favorite movie at the moment. There's a hilarious part in the movie where this stone statue says "Hey dum dum, me want gum gum." If you say it to chase he says it in his deep little voice. It's quite hilarious...

Washing Machines=Necessary Evil

Have you ever had a HUGE amount of wash to do and left it for the very last minute?
I have
Have you ever had TONS of wet stuff in the hampers and put it off and so now it smells?
I have
Have you ever turned your full washer on and had brown water come out on your clothes?
I have
Have you ever needed all your clothes cleaned b/c you're going away to Girls Camp to be a leader?
I have
Have you ever had the cold water not coming out of the stinking washer?
I have
Have you ever had to stare at the huge pile of clothes on the floor and realize you cannot wash them b/c the washer no worky?
I HAVE
Lesson of the day. Don't Proscrastinate!!! :)

I can't believe I made no mention of this!!!!!!!!

So, we played Settlers on Saturday and I WON!!! It was an exciting moment for me. Especially b/c it ticked Phil off so much that he'd lost. I then had to go make pie, so the other 3 fools played and then Jenny won. So basically Dunlop girls rule!!!!!!! We're the Ladies of Catan!

(crap that really sounds dorky. i promise this is not dungeon and dragons.)For the record, these people are complete dorks. I just don't want to be associated w/ this group of people. (guys-seriously wouldn't that board be sweet!?!??!?!)

Will this humidity EVER go away?!?!?

It is so nasty out I could scream. It's really hot too, almost 100 degrees, but it's that sick feeling of going out and feeling wet in your clothes that's really getting to me. My parents dropped in on Saturday on their drive down to Alabama. We all enjoyed a delicious meal at Moe's and then came back to our house for Lemon Curd Pie. Just reading that will make Phil and Travis salivate. Luckily it cooled a bit for our visit to Phil's parents on Sunday. We went for lunch, an EXTREMELY quick game of kickball, dinner and dessert. It was a nice visit w/ them b/c his mom was in North Carolina for a month and hadn't seen the kiddos. She brought them back really cute tees.
A family at our church is hosting a cute little Kids Camp a few days in the next 2 weeks and Ty went on Monday and loved it. Her 2 older boys are doing it and they did games, crafts, a relay race and had lunch. He thought it was just the coolest thing. Tomorrow he goes and he's supposed to bring a costume for a play. Apparently he wants to be a frog.
Lately Chasey has been driving us insane w/ his daredevil antics. He's totally dead opposite of our little cautious Tyler. He gets up on the table and runs around in circles on it, almost jumped to his death off a large piece of playground equipment and really the list could just go on. It's not a matter of if he'll get a new bruise each day, it's how many. Yesterday he messed his toe up and tracked blood all over the place! Freak!
This is what you'll find Chase doing most of the day. Tearing around the house on his firetruck. He's really quite fast!

So anywho, not much going on this week. I created a hobby space in the basement and I'm very happy. That's just a cooler way of saying a craft area. But it's organized and I'm pleased.

Playing outside in spite of the heat wave!

Yesteray we took the kids to Terhune Orchard to play and eat delicious cider donuts. It was really fun for the kids b/c they chased geese, fed the animals and climbed on everything. Then today the boys and I decided to have a water balloon fight and play in the sprinklers. It was nice to just hang out together actually and we all had a really good time. It was great to watch Chase playing on the slide b/c his bum was so wet he kept flying down so fast. This would have terrified Tyler, but not our daredevil Chasey! I had to drag them into the house so they could take a nap. Which I must say was long and glorious.

Chasey

Mason & Ollie

We had to make Tyler feed the donkey. He preferred throwing the corn at the geese.

Chillin' in the swing

The tractor situation became a little chaotic

Austin & Chase. They look so little on this huge John Deere!

They had a great time chasing the geese. (mom are you okay seeing these? I know your goose "problem" :) )

Ty showing the bucket of popped balloons. We were pretty busy people...

Making "music" w/ the sprinkler.
