Grocery list gone awry

I was at Target yesterday and noticed I'd put "nursing homes" on my list of things to buy. I was a bit perplexed by this and finished shopping. Then I went to Wegman's to grocery shop and again kept looking at this nursing home business. I just couldn't for the life of me figure out why I'd put that. Perhaps I'm in the market and forgot? Then it hit me in the produce aisle. I need nursing PADS!! While making the list I must have started writing it and gotten interrupted and so naturally w/ nursing must come homes. Evidence perhaps that I just don't get enough sleep.
Oh, and Wegman's doesn't carry them so now I have to go back out today for them. Dang!!

BOBOS?!?!?

I just bought Chase a pair of school shoes. Let's just say w/out disclosing what I paid for them, that Phil disagreed w/ the price. My thinking is that he's getting all hand-me-downs, would it kill him to have a cool pair of shoes? Phil's thinking is that he's 3 and would be just as happy w/ any pair of Bobo shoes. I ask, "did you say bobo? what in the heck are you talking about? a clown?" So Phil informs me that when he was a kid if you wore really cheapo shoes (ie:k-mart specials, wal-mart, etc) then they were called bobo shoes. So these were the variety that he wore and he tells me that one day a kid sang a lovely little tune and it goes as follows...

"Bobos, they make your feet feel fine.
Bobos, they cost a dollar ninety nine."
I have never laughed this hard in my life. I can just see poor tiny Phil crushed by this bully, and it's just hilarious to me! So then I of course ask, why should any child of mine wear BOBOS?!?!? I think this should become our families theme song.
And to verify this info I found this thread and it's a real hoot!

A short clip of him showing his mad skills.

Today Ty proved he CAN do a somersault

One of the funnest things about having this pool is watching my boys learn a new skill everyday. Today Tyler learned somersaults and handstands. Chase suddenly decided he could jump off the ladder and let his face go under water. Dramatic changes for these two timid pool people!!

In no particular order

We have what we've been doing this summer. B/c it's been forever since I've put pictures on there are alot. So sit tight and enjoy the ride. Maybe you'll get bored halfway-that's okay. Unless you're blood-you have to look at all of them!!!
Eliza eating her first solid! Oatmeal hit the spot!
Some friends in the ward had Eliza one Sunday and snapped this picture of her sleeping. Notice she's fallen asleep w/ one hand in the mouth, the other holding her tootsie. What a nut!
My old neighbor from our last house came from Chicago to visit. She needs to move back!!!
The kids w/ our new daily routine. Swim and eat popsicles. Repeat.
Some indoor smores. It didn't stop raining at the beginning of summer.
Phil had a brilliant idea to have a door put in our garage to the backdoor creating a mudroom of sorts. I LOVE it!!!
thrilling!!!!!
A shout out to Dave Kayes who did it for us. We're not sure at this point how we lived 2 years without it!!!
The finished product. W/out the trim, stairs and I painted it red.
Rolling over for the first time!
2 happy kids
3 happy kids. I had fun getting them Philly-fied.
Of course playing in sprinkler requires swords and shields. Of course!!!
After cleaning the gutters Phil took the boys on the roof and they loved it. It was tough getting them back down!
A little tummy-time.
This picture says everything about Chase's personality.
4th of July
cute shirts my sister jessy helped me make.

Lizy's dress from Grandma Joellen.
We went w/ some friends to a creek near the shore to look for fossils. We found several sharks teeth and something else cool but at the moment it escapes me. But it was cool trust me.
I am hoping Ty doesn't have OCD. I walked in to him lining all his toys up perfectly. There was apparently a battle they were all getting ready for.
Ready to take a dip in the pool.
So sweet.
Our new addition. We love it. I am freaked out by the danger of it. We use it all the time. I love, I hate. But in one week Tyler is swimming under water, using goggles, jumping in. And now Chase is swimming and jumping in.
Tyler swam around in circles 4 times. Amazing for a kid who was timid in swim class!!
Our friends the Sherwood's came to visit. For some reason I only have pics of Josh and the kids! No amanda!!! Here's Josh w/ their son Tyson and Eliza.
Swimming. Josh wearing children's snorkeling mask. Too funny!!!
Eliza loves the water too!
here's Ty swimming w/ his face in the water! are you kidding me?!?!?!The other day Jenn called and said, "let's go to the beach." So we did. The kids had a BLAST!!
A sand version of my girl.
Building a sandcastle. Well, adding the finishing touches.
Mr. chase
2 sleepyheads

Having fun in Bama

Here we go on the airplane! I braved this flight alone w/ 2 kids and they all did great on all 4 flights considering none of them went all that smoothly! My kids rock! Looking concerned perhaps about flying?
My mom designed and planted ALL the flowers at the Birmingham Temple and so we spent almost everyday watering and tending to the gardens.

My parents upgraded...but apparently not their daugher. I am hideous...
Taking the boys on a ride. It was fun! Phil-I NEED one of these!!!

We took the kiddos to a cave that was pretty kid-friendly. And it was nice and cool!
My back was killing by the end of the hike. Eliza is a beast!
Lots of mowing. Chase was in heaven!
A fun activity that began like this. Shaving cream in a pan.
Ended like this! You can see it goes all the way to the mailbox. Luckily there are not shots of me-I was just as bad. Luckily it rained and cleaned us all off!!
Eliza found Tyler's face. He loves to sit with her and they play.
At one of our favorite spots in Alabama. Froggies! here are the loads.
My little love.
Chase, Ty, Lexi and the little boy whose mom owns the joint. He became a surrogate family mmember.
That can't be good on their necks.
3 sweaty kids.
Poor neglected Eliza fell asleep. Loving her thumb!!
The kids spent many nights bubble bathing it!
My dad was very proud of Eliza for sitting her for so long while they chit-chatted.
At the Birmingham Zoo.
The boys laughing at Zebra bums.
Chase was obsessed w/ seeing the lions. This is him roaring at them. He's such a gentle little flower.
Mom and I on the zoo train. Can you see that glisten? That's the Alabama heat/humidity killing us a minute at a time.
Afterwards the kids loved ringing this bell. It's the small things.
Enjoying some shade. Not sure why Chase is doing this. I am afraid.
I suppose when you're hot you SHOULD drop your drawers and sit a spell.
This awesome park by my parents house. It's just a regular swings and slides park, but then they have this fun water section! how cool is this?!?!?
Ty enjoyed the shooting of course.
My dad holding Lucy and Eliza.
Chase in heaven. My parents set this train up and it became an obsession for 3 weeks.
One happy boy!
Lexi so proud of herself.
The "train chair." One must be sitting in it and wearing the hat to control the remote. It's just the rules so live with it.
Eliza in my blessing dress. If my scanner worked I'd scan the pic of me in. For the record she and I look nothing alike (which might be a good thing!!!)

The boys sadly heading home. They were looking for Grandma and Grandpa's house from the airport.
Eliza making weird faces. I was killing time while waiting to board the plane.

THANKS MOM AND DAD FOR AN AWESOME TIME!!!
