This is the face of a child

That might have the mumps. He was complaining yesterday that his ear hurt, and then he woke up like this today. After a quick heart attack-I took him to the doctor and she said that despite his vaccination he could still have the mumps! Since it's viral you can't really treat the mumps, but he's taking an antibiotic in case it's an infection of the lymph node. I feel so bad for him b/c it's very painful, so he's been eating popsicles all day (hence his bright red lips!) Thankfully Uncle Trav came over and he and Phil gave him a blessing, so I'm hoping he feels better for our drive to my parents in Alabama in 2 days! The Doc said she didn't feel good about us going in case things got worse, but I can't not go!!! So think good thoughts for my little guy! he's had a rough month, between 10 days of diarrhea and then a week of fevers. Summer has to start being fun soon!!

Happy Birthday Chase & Happy Easter

What? You say it's June? Well, I say June is the new April! Or I'm totally behind on my blogging. Anyway...We were fortunate to have my little sister Jackie w/ her hubby and new chubby baby Adeling visiting for that weekend. And luckily for Chasey Easter fell on his birthday! He felt so honored to have such a sacred holiday happening on his birthday! Not really, but he loved double the gifts. What can I say-he's 4.
Here we have Ty Easter morn. Chase being his ever-reverant self.
Eliza loving the candy at 7am

Chase w/ his birthday loot.

He LOVES this harmonica. And he can actually carry a tune on it! Very funny.

my cute little bunny
The firetruck heard round the world. Literally-it's loud. And HUGE. I got it off of ebay and this child sort of covets it. he's sharing much better as of today though.
Dunlop grandparents sent this awesome fireman getup. He wears it all the time. ALL THE TIME

After watching conference or before-I can't remember-we did a little egg hunt in the front yard. Chase in just another pair of boots.

Ty on the hunt. I think Eliza was asleep.
For dessert that afternoon we had these lovely little bunny cupcakes with scooby doo wrappers. Angel food cupcakes. YUM

The 3 cutest bunnies in town. Lucy, Adeline and Eliza.

A few days later Chase had his Star Wars themed party. here he is in Luke Skywalker costume. I made one for each kid as a party favor. The R2D2 cake is compliments of my friend Amanda. Isn't it COOL?!?!?

Darth Vader/Dad. We played a game where the kids had to save Princess Lei from the Evil Vader!
Our own Princess Lei. Am I spelling that right? I'm too lazy to look it up.

They went through some Jedi training. Did you know slam-dunking is part of that?

Here they are discussing life. And Jenn is patroling it. Very seriously.

Attacking Phil. There were so many pics to choose from. It was so funny to watch!

Run Forest! Run!
The 2 girls sat in this jeep for a good 30 mins. entertained. Who needs a pac n play?
Uncle Trav didn't make the cut as the Princess. I don't know why...

Eliza totally could have-but she wasn't walking yet. P.S.-I hope her hair isn't that dark!
Lucy looking confused by it all.
Phil-still scaring the children.
Josh-making Princess Lei cool w/ sunglasses

These boys love to get dirty and work!

Under a "somewhat" controlled environment, we let the boys grab a hammer and help us demolish the kitchen. It was a dream come true for them!
We had everyone sign the wall that came into the house a few weeks before. And here the boys are going nuts!Ty feeling proud of his start.
Chase got a little crazy on the backsplash. Tile was flying!! Please note:no protective eye wear.

Chase also cleans up! My kind of man!

Jenn came to watch the kids while we tore this baby up!!!

On the Farm

Jenn, Amanda and I took the kiddies to Howell Living Farm for an afternoon of running and splashing. We saw sheered sheep, were chased by hissing geese & walked behind some huge working horses which didn't seem safe to me, but oh, well!
Here the girls are discussing important things I'm sure.My little babies checking out the lambs.
The crew of kids.
They had so much fun exploring this creek.

My chasey in another pair of boots.
Lex & Ty
Taking a rest from all the walking.

Baseball. Coach Pitch that is.

Despite the fact that I have no good pictures of Tyler playing baseball-we had a really fun season with him. I can't say I enjoyed bringing the 2 little ones-although here's Eliza charming the boys putting on a glove-but Tyler improved so much this year w/ such great coaching that it was fun to see! Phil was the honorary pitcher and so I think Ty loved the whole experience! And he's very quick to let you know this is coach pitch, not teeball people. Here he is-in the Phillies hat of course. He was lucky to have 2 buddies on the team this year-Matthew and Oakley.
Listening very intently I'm sure.

Just getting ready to see the new movie Karate Kid

WAX ON. WAX OFF.

Being stylish, Junk in the trunk, biking and such

I have so much to blog and say, and so little motivation to do it! I'm going through pics and realized I never blogged Chase's birthday party. And I'm hoping that w/ summer I'll actually have pictues of Tyler. What kind of mother am I?!?!? So for now enjoy these 2 little bugs on a bench.
Tyler melting during Field Day. His poor buddy Jaylen ended up almost passing out! But Ty's team won at tug-of-war so he was happy.
These 2 are the best of friends. During the day you'll find them dressing up together, reading and playing toys. Love it.

Here we are enjoying the bike trailer.

This my friends is what happens when you swim w/ a regular diaper. I'm only hoping my girl doesn't have a badonk-adonk like this when she's older!

And just another day of Chase changing his "accessories." Today you'll see he chose his green pirate gloves and INSIDE fireman boots. He made this choice on his own-these boots do not leave this house. And when we did go outside he quickly changed (very Mr. Rogers style) into his red moon boots (very Napoleon Dynamite style).

It's Official

My girl has brown eyes. We weren't sure if she was hazel or brown, but just today she was staring so intensely at me (that I thought perhaps she saw my soul) and her big eyes were just dark as chocolate. I have my very own "Brown Headed Kid." (my family nickname as a child)
