I know this is ridiculous but.......

Yesterday was going pretty crappy anyway, and then I went to the computer. And there it was. Heath Ledger had died. I know nobody probably cares who is reading this, but I do! He was awesome in The Patriot which is one movie Phil and I will actually watch together and both enjoy. Not to mention that Aussie accent and charming good looks! And I feel so bad for his family. I could have down w/out the whole Brokeback Mountain situation, but he was still an incredible actor.

So petty or not, I am bummed...for many reasons!

Here comes Debbie Downer! Wa wa.

I have officially hit rock bottom...

Let me start this by saying that my parents are hair snobs. They only go to uppity hair salons. As a teen I wasn't allowed to color my hair or cut it w/out my dad's permission. So forgive me if some of that has rubbed off on me. In an effort to save some money however, I figured that since I was only getting a trim that I would go to Supercuts. In my childhood home, this is a swear word. And I have to say, I'm not totally against it (obviously since I went) but I do believe you get what you pay for. I've never had a good cut from these Choppers, and so it was with great hesitation I entered the "salon." Firstly, the woman had unnatural orange hair that greeted me at the door. Then the woman came along to trim my hair and she had really really long bright flourescent pink nails. I was afraid. But getting into conversation only made it worse. I wish I had it on video b/c I coudln't stop laughing (on the inside of course.) People, she used to be a TRUCK DRIVER!! My hair was being cut by an ex-truck driver. Not that there's anything wrong w/ being a driver, but man what a career change! And she's on her 3rd husband, she came home last night to blood all over the kitchen floor. Thank goodness it was just her 180 pound dogs tumor that cracked! Yikes! (you know how I just adore dogs in teh house) She watched that new movie Bucket List that is still in theaters at home last night. I asked her how that was possible. She smiled and said her husband "knows people." The other woman by the way through all this is sitting next to us reading the comics (which I didn't know adults did) and she's laughing at them and reading them to us ethe whole time. They aren't funny. She read family circus to me! They are so stupid and I had to courtesy laugh.
Well, the strangeness continued but I won't bore you any longer. And I'm afraid that I have to go again b/c I want to know more about this woman who went to the dentist last night for the first time in years. The dentist told her she needed a TON of work and she said since she doesn't have insurance that it would take years to fix. Then she went on about hating dentists and what a rip off it is, etc. I didn't mention my bro-in-law is a dentist and my other one is about to start Dental School.
So, if you see me and my hair looks like crap you'll know why!!!

Pantene Beautiful Lengths

If you've got long hair you'd like to cut-why not donate it to Pantene! They're donating free wigs to cancer patients and the length requirement is only 8 inches. (I believe other hair for wig donation programs are 10 inches) They need 6 donations to make one wig. That is my plan for my locks once I hit the requirement!

Check out their site for more info. http://www.beautifullengths.com/

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

After a 2007 of extreme ups and downs I am ready for a fresh year full of more learning and growing experiences (I just hope there just aren't as many flipping funerals in order for me to grow!!!!) But really last night Phil and I went through each month and named the highlights (postive and negative) and we realized that although this has truly been the most difficult year of my life, we also are completely blessed. We love our life and are thankful for all that we've been given, including our adorable kids. They can drive us nuts, but for the most part they have us laughing and looking at life w/ a different perspective. WE're also lucky to have family close by and good friends to hang with. And of course we're lucky to have such a wonderful church in our life.

Last night we had my sister's family and another family, the Sherwoods, come over to play some serious guitar hero and late night pictionary. (I have to mention Rachael and Joe who couldn't make it b/c Joe ate something nasty-missed ya!) It was really fun and the kids all behaved perfectly. Oh, and I ate myself silly. Which leads me to resolutions-eat better. HA HA!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Christmas morning is the best!

We had so much fun this year doing Christmas Eve w/ Phil's family at our house and then waking up in our house and letting the kids run downstairs to see what goodies were left for them under our tree. Tyler almost exploded w/ excitement-the whole morning was priceless! You'll see in the pic w/ Ty that he's holding up his most awaited gift-a "battery toothbrush." It's all I've heard about and he hasn't stopped brushing since he got it! And Chasey has been zipping all over on his new bike. Then it was off to Phil's parents house for dinner. I'd call the day a success!
