The Cubarama

Having grown up in a family of all girls-the whole Boy Scout thing is totally foreign to me. Phil wasn't a Boy Scout either-so we're basically clueless. Ty seems to be loving Cub Scouts. A few weekends back our county had a Cubarama. The name makes me laugh-I know-I need to grow up. So my friend Amy and I took the boys for an afternoon of manliness.
Ty is there in the red hat-these are rubberband rifles. Totally cool! I want my dad to make them for Christmas gifts.
 Rope Tying
Little sailboats. They raced them by blowing on the sails. Fun!

Fishing! And Ty caught his very first fish EVER! So exciting! Although I was totally stressed standing there while 8 yr olds cast their lines. I almost lost an eye a time or two.
I didn't say it was big. It's hanging there on the line. :)
Archery-my personal fav. I loved doing this in P.E. class in Alabama. He has a great shot-just like his mom and dad. For reals!
 Come on-look at that form!
We ended the day w/ the classic tug-of-war. The boys loved it and even earned a badge!

Batsto Village

About a year ago my friend told me about this neat colonial village called Batsto Village in South Jersey. I kept the email she sent marked as unread for a year-and finally we went! it was really cool. Here we are acting like horses in the stalls.
 Neigh!!!
The carpentry barn. I'll bet nobody knows just how ghetto Phil is. Wow.
So quiet and peaceful here. I don't have alot of quiet in my life, so when I get it I savor every freaking second of it.

I was loving all the trees in bloom. No matter how warm it is outside, if Ty has a coat with him he'll wear it.
The mansion of the guy who owned the village. It's been a month so I forget the whole story, but it was a cool story. Trust me.
They sell candy sticks at the Visitors Center. I had to get them b/c I always got those as a kid.
Taking a break at Batsto Lake
Crossing the bridge to the Lumber Mill
I took these pics w/ my dad in mind. He would have enjoyed all the tools in there.
Those are some serious saw blades!!

He was so nervous doing this- and then he was so proud of himself for doing it!
These houses are where all the laborers lived.
Chase ALWAYS shooting at me. ALWAYS.

We did a little hike back to the car. it was such a fun day!

Easter

The classic Egg-dyeing tradition. And this was our best year. No messes. Happy smiles.
 Bunny Ears!
 Proud of her shrink-wrap egg
 All fancied up Easter morning
After church the Barno's and Phil's mom came for the egg hunt and some dinner.

These are the pretty pics that happen when your husband has the camera.
 These 2 are inseperable lately
The cousins-this is as good as it gets when you're hopped up on candy.

 The Barno's
Eliza loves her Aunt Rie Rie
 The other Barno's

Crazy Hair!

Lucy and Eliza both have curly hair, so it was hilarious to see the static make their hair stand up straight!
 This hair is killing me!
 Cute, silly gals!!

My Chasey turns 6

Chase's morning started out with lots of fun presents. I love his cheesy grin.

My parents gave him this aircraft carrier and it was a hit!

We had a simple, low-key party in Doylestown, PA at Kids Castle. These are his "hamburger" cupcakes. They were so fun to make and eat.
Opening gifts up in the pavilion.
A pregnant Aunt Rie Rie and Uncle Tim
Playing down by the creek. I think every person needs a creek in their neighborhood-kids love them.
The birthday boy wearing his Marines shirt from the Meyerson's

 Miss Lexi Lou
 All the girls
The boys found a skull and so much fun speculating what it was and how it died.
 Girly Cousins
Chase had fun ripping out the teeth of the skull and give them to each of the kids.
The big boys (Ty even has a moustache)
 The 3 Muskateers
Barno's gave Chase this little number
 One dirty, happy little girl
After all the fun Chase fell asleep within seconds of getting into the van! Love this boy!
