An Easter Weekend

We decided to get the heck out of New Jersey and head down to Richmond, VA to stay w/ Jackie and Doug-and we had such a great time! We stopped in Washington, D.C. on the way down (which is sadly my first time) and did what we could w/ 3 kids. Then we went to the Shafer's for 4 days and had a great Easter.
Our first stop in DC was at the Air and Space Museum. It was totally packed and crazy, so we walked around a bit and bought astronaut ice cream and got back outside to teh sunshine as quickly as we could.

Here they are eating it. It was...freeze dried and weird. Sorry space men!

At the Washington Monument showing how big each brick is! Crazy!
A tree we found by teh monument. Provided much entertainment.
Our cute boy.
Looking to the Lincoln Memorial...which we never made it to b/c the kids were done.

Ty took our picture at the reflecting pool.
Doesn't it look like Chase is about to push Tyler in? Who knows what is going on in his devious head.
In Virginia at Maymont Park. It's got all these beautiful gardens.

Jackie and I (why am I the shortest sister?)

Awesome staircase
In the Japanese Gardens
I love Japanese Maples
There are several rescued animals. The bald eagles are in the background.
Eliza makes a quick appearance!
Lunch at Five Guys. DELICIOUS!!!
Then to Krispie Kreme for hot off the press doughnuts!
Egg coloring. My own personal hell-but it's for the kids.
Chase not really getting it. Decorate eggs-not yourself!!!!! Highlight however was when he thought his arm was bleeding and freaked-but it was just pink dye.
Easter morning. My cute kiddies.
Eliza's first Easter
Adorable handmade sweater from a friend
The monkey bread mishap. Still tasted good however.
The Easter Egg Hunt of 2009.
it was quick and fun
Visiting Doug at dental school. This is his patient.
OPEN WIDE!!!
Trying on Doug's very pricey glasses.
Doctor Phil
Ty couldn't believe how magnified his hands were.
Doug and Jackie We walked across this really long suspension bridge to Belle Isle and played on the rocks FOREVER!
Phil and Ty having some alone time.
All tuckered out at the end of our trip.

Doesn't Doug's thumb look like a tongue? That would be sweet.

Looks like you had a blast. Eliza is so cute. It's so sad that they have to grow up so fast.

Looks like so much fun! Eliza is so huge! And, the whole five guys thing...Been there, done that, won't go back. I didn't think it was that good and it was so expensive! Anyway, super huge and cute kids. We miss you guys!
