The kids earned free Six Flags tickets for reading and so Phil and I took the boys. They were so brave and had soooo much fun! Can't wait for next year!
Uncle Travis took Chase and Lexi crabbing. Ty couldn't go b/c he'd just gotten his concussion.
Chase clearly had a great time! Look at that smile!
Look at that honker Lexi caught!!
We were almost to the beach when they closed the bridge to allow some boats through. It took fooooorever and Ty had fun checking it out as the bridge opened up. Plus my friends are jealous I have a minivan. I'm certain of this.
Just another day at the beach. Ty buried w/ the ladies.

I was tired of little black feet when the kids got off of the trampoline, so I chose a nasty hot, humid day for the kids to clean it. We stuck the sprinkler under the trampoline and covered it in bubbles and they got to work scrubbing. They loved sliding all around!
An afternoon at Howell Living Farm. We came here while Chase went crabbing w/ Trav. After Ty's concussion he couldn't do anything to stimulate his brain (i.e.:reading, tv, video games, music, life in general actually). So it was making for a loooong summer. So we came here to quietly walk around. He did pretty well, but got a bad headache afterwards and fell right to sleep. It was good while it lasted!
The girls enjoyed throwing rocks and walking in the water in their rain boots.
Ty had to wear sunglasses to protect his wonky eyes from the sun. The reason I took him to the ER in the first place is b/c he came to me about 2 hours after Chase had jumped on his head saying he felt dizzy and his head hurt and I turned to look at him and one eye was waaay more dilated than the other. He had a Cat Scan and all checked out, no swelling or bleeding.
They held hands almost the whole time. So cute!
B/c it was a quiet day they took us right into the chicken coop to gather the eggs. I had to play cool when the chickens starting pecking at my bright orange toenails. Eliza was already feeling nervous in there!
Lucy working hard. We were giving the horses water.
We caught crawdads, but I forgot our nets and buckets so Ty improvised w/ his boot. Genius!!
Another day trying to entertain Ty w/out too much stimulation. We had a "tea" party on the deck complete w/ tea (hot chocolate), treats, Christmas lights and formal attire. While he was healing Ty learned how to make instant pudding and really enjoyed it. We've had loooooots of pudding since. LOTS!
Eliza is wearing her Cinderella dress, Chase his church clothes, and Ty my dad's old leisure suit from the 70's. We're a classy bunch!! p.s. see the lemon pudding?
The sparkly effect going into the evening.
Ty at one of his million follow-up appts. He's been to the ER, his Pediatrician, a Neurologist, and this is a Neuro-Opthamologist. She dilated his eyes to look at the nerves.
It's hard to tell in this pic, but if you look closely you can see one pupil is larger than the other. And as of today 9/28 it still is! His accident was 8/13. I just saw his Pediatrician last week and she wants us to see another eye doctor b/c she doesn't like that they are still off. But at least he got the go-ahead to resume recess and gym class. It was kiiiilling him to sit in the nurse's office during those periods. But when I brought in the note to the school nurse she was so sad to see him go. She said he was so helpful w/ the younger kids that also had to sit out. He's such a good boy!
