I took all of our homevideos on those small HI-8 tapes to Walgreens to have them made into DVD's and they did such a great job! They send them out to a company called YesVideo and we're all so happy to have them on easily accessible. The price wasn't terrible (it also kind of sucked too) but it's worth it. So thanks Walgreens. For filling prescriptions w/ a drive thru AND making sweet memories come alive!
On a side note: when Ty was born we put the video camera up by my head and filmed down. No nasty shots or anything. Well, I hadn't planned on showing that to the kids any time soon. BUT Saturday night Eliza was up all night w/ a fever and I hadn't slept, so I slept in until about 9:30 Sunday and the boys had been watching the home videos. I come walking down the stairs and Tyler announces, "I know how babies come out now." Woops. Crap. But also good I guess. He'd figured it all out based on the video. So that part of the birds and bees-done and done.

I just bought a Groupon to have the VHS to DVD transfer done!! It was $40 for $100 worth of transfer which they said is about 6 2-hour tapes. I hope they do as good of a job as Walgreens did for you. I'm excited!!
That awesome on both counts. =)
You are such a multi tasker. Memories and life lessons all while you were sleeping. Genius!
