A Shameless Plug
Our friend here is starting up a Photography Business here in Princeton and so he used us as guinea pigs-and we were happy to ablige! I have been wanting really cool, unique family pics and I'm just thrilled with how these turned out. Josh did a great job! I think he captured our kids personalities perfectly! Thanks again!

Put to work
The boys have a chore chart that they must complete every morning before they can play. I woke up one morning and they'd made themselves breakfast, gotten dressed and made their beds. Tyler made his to perfection!!! I helped Chase a bit, but he was still really proud. If only I could get rid of those darned stuffed animals. Is it wrong that I totally hate them? they both have about a million "babies" and each one is more important than the next. I say burn them all!!!!
The fruits of our labor
We did a garden w/ the Meyerson's this year and it's been quite successful. A few rabbit and pest issues, but all in all not so bad. Makes me feel pioneerish. Is that a word?
June part 3
We had a fun night at the Trenton Thunder game - minor league baseball. It's cheap, close and the kids love it! Not Phil or Josh's best pic-I'm sorry to say so.

Very intensely watching.

This was Chase's first experience cracking open peanuts (for shame!) and he totally enjoyed it. he spent most of the game cracking and munching.
Eliza eating another lollipop. I have 2 dentists in the family so I'm not worried.
I love this pic. After the game they played a game w/ tennis balls and the boys went up for further inspection. Chase looks so boyish! And Tyler a giant! And Zach so bald! (his dad surprised his mom by shaving his head!!)
Afterwards they had fireworks-the kids loved them.
Again our friends the Gruber's watched our kids while we ran into the city and Chase spent much of his time sitting here watching Scooby Doo. He's made himself very much at home if you ask me!

Juen part 2
We went to the Manhattan Temple for a Ward Temple trip and this time we brought our kids along for them to hang out with our friends whose Dad is a counselor in the Temple Presidency. They have an apartment just around the block from the temple so our kids had quite the fun experience! The Grubers took them to Central Park to play and then up to the apt. for some relief from the heat. What a cool experience for us!
I had to document that while I was unpacking into the new kitchen I gave Eliza her first lollipop to keep her occupied. This is after her first lick and she appears to be in shock from the sugary sweetness. She proceeded to suck that baby dry!
We spent most of June swimming and eating popsicles or ice cream!
Zach was here alot b/c their a/c was broken!!!

It was so long ago I can't remember why-but Trav and I went on a "date" and took the kids to the Plainsboro Preserve. Each week the kids and I have chosen a theme and this week it was birds so we were on the hunt for any bird we could find. Ty found a stuffed bald eagle-his new obsession!
We brought otter pops to keep them cool.

The kids were so funny. They wanted to make a chair and somehow big sticks qualify. It kept them busy!

Peace has been restored
Who knew that a kitchen renovation could take so long? OH, you did? Cause I went into this w/ rose-colored lenses thinking it wouldn't interfere with my life THAT much. I was a bit off-base.
So here we have our new kitchen. I hope to not come off as bragging-but I just really love this new space in the house! This half of the kitchen didn't change as far as placement of cabinets and appliances. But it's all new cabinets, appliances and lighting. We were able to keep the counter-top-although our contractor mentioned he won't be doing that ever again. i guess it was pretty heavy-I think he just needs to pump more iron. :) The opening into the kitchen here was widened quite a bit and it really opened up the space.
The fridge is now where our pantry used to be. It fits so much better here and I love the new floor to ceiling pantry cabinets to the left of it. The drawers pull out and I can access everything on the shelf!
Here we are at the other end of our galley kitchen. To the left here we have some sweet newness. This is where the fridge used to awkwardly stick out into the kitchen. We couldn't have the dishwasher and fridge open at the same time. Very convenient. So I have more counterspace and cabinets in it's place! Hooray! This is where I do all of my baking. It's my happy place. Oh, and each cabinet door has quiet close. it's magical. The backsplash is subway tile. Also makes me smile to see it. This kitchen is just more functional for us and I'm just thrilled w/ how it turned out!
Lastly-some friends of ours, the Grubers, gave us this really cool dining table set. It's about 40? years old and was in a dark-stained finish. So I used my new BFF-my paint sprayer-and made it white, distressed it a bit and added oilcloth seat pads. Here we have Ty pondering life? and Chase using his apple slices as canoes.
An up close and personal look at my chairs. I covet them. So sue me. Thanks mom for helping me staple the oilcloth on! I took them down to Alabama and she helped me rock these.
