I'm not as informed as I thought I was

Tyler has just informed me that if you're not good Santa will you bring you a hair brush. To a little boy that's the ultimate worst thing ever I guess! I guess I'm in luck b/c I could really use a new one...So, now you all know.

A little "Brotherly Love" for ya!

This picture just cracks us up... (they really did have a blast getting our pumpkins!) Is it normal that at 4 Tyler does things just to tick Chasey off?

Stirring her Brew...

During dinner Ty just started singing this, apparently he learned it in Preschool and we coudln't have been prouder. He was so cute and serious singing it!

Our first trip to the Emergency Room

So, we have Tyler for 4 years and (everyone knock on wood NOW!) he's never hurt himself enough to take him to the ER. Well, just the other day I was thinking, "I'll bet Chase will be there quite a bit" b/c he's a wild man. So Sunday evening I'm getting ready to go to a fireside and bam, Chase lost the battle against his toy box. He fell off and cut below his lip ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO THE INSIDE. I mean, I could stick an earring through it now in preparation for adolesence. GROSS! AND he cut the top of his mouth. As we were dealing with all that blood (man who knew the mouth gushed like that) I kept thinking that Bella from the Twilight series would be totally passing out right now. Sad?yes. True? yes.
So after a fairly short wait in the waiting room (we saw puddles of blood and a guy broke his finger-it was completely bent in half. we both almost died) Mr. Chase was sent home w/ just an RX for an antibiotic. No stitches necessary. He did also rip that piece of skin (frenulum) connecting your upper lip and gums. So it's hanging down, and each time he smiles I dry heave. Today he was in surprisingly good spirits. Clingy, but he didn't seem to bothered by it. Oh, and shout out to Jenny for picking up Ty and keeping him over night! It looks pretty bad though. Here's a pic of him last night after we got home. Notice the upper lip issue and the lower lip.

Josh has some mad guitar skills...

Really, need I say more?

The Truck Show comes to town

After soccer Saturday we took the kids to the Truck Show. They had a blast climbing all over buses, trash trucks, tractors, street cleaners, firetrucks, police cars, etc. You name it, it was there. And my friends, it was loud. Imagine all those beastly things horns. Going off constantly. Over and over again. Next year I'll wear ear plugs. But it was cool to see them all up close and personal!

I need some closure on something...

Okay, I thought this was a good place to ask this question. When i was a kid in probably 5th grade we had library time and I remember we used to watch these movies about this van or something that was a traveling library. And then it was something bizarre like the end of the world and all these bad guys wanted the books. All I know is that we were at a pretty intense part of the show and the bad guys were coming and the "librarians" in the truck were trying to defend themselves and then the teacher said we'd finish it later. And then I moved. And at this point you're thinking I'm totally nuts, but you have no idea how many times in the last 18 years I've wondered how it ended. I just can't remember the name of it!! If you can help me out I'd be much abliged!!
And yes, I believe I have OCD.

This one is for Kristin

I had to show you the excitement of watching the cube become a towel. He wanted to use it to clean up the kitchen and I had to draw the line. I told him it was for wiping up blood from his pirate battles. I am encouragin violence?

This is him saying AARRRRGH!

Apples, Buses and Painting

Phil's mom came up for a day at the Apple Farm Harvest Festival. We had a really nice time and enjoyed my favorite treat there-Cider Donuts! Yum! Tyler had his first pony ride, we did a corn maze, wagon ride, picked apples, blah blah blah. I could go on and on. It was great! Chasey gnawed on this apple the ENTIRE trip.
One of the highlights was Tyler riding his first school bus from a business to the apple farm. And can you believe they have seatbelts on them now?!?! Long gone are the days of squeezing 5 friends to a seat and flying forward when the bus braked. Don't you remember standing in the aisle waiting for the bus to stop so you could jump forward even farther? I just can't see anybody using them, but what a great idea!

Our little picasso in the making. I decided the only way I can peacefully let him paint at my house is to strip him down to his undies. And it was really fun for him. He got really into it and was pretty serious about the vision he had. All I saw was a big blob of color. I am a heathen...

The Week of Birthdays that didn't end!

The end of September into October is chock full of B-days in NJ. First there was Lexi's 5th B-day (although I convinced her it was her 7th :))We met at a park for pizza and brownies. Unfortunately her good fortune makes my son look a little ridiculous!

Then it was Mr. Ty's 4th B-day. Grandma Joyce was here the day before and gave the boys these towels bringing many hours of enjoyment. We took Ty on his B-day to get his first pet-a Beta Fish that we named Brobee (sp?) after his favorite green character on YoGabba Gabba.

Then came the great combined Pirate/Fairy Princess party. We had 11 children having a really fun time doing pinatas, treasure hunt, chasing each other and teasing. Here's Tyler and Joshua sword fighting. It was hilarious!

The swashbuckling pirates eating their grub.

The pirate ship cakes my girlfriend and I made. They were a hit!

That weekend we went to Phil's cousins daughter Abigail's 1st b-day party. And after that Tyler got MORE presents from the Bauman's and Barno's. This child has so many toys and yet continually tells me he's bored!!

And then lastly was MY 30th B-day. I am officially out of the 20's and strangely not that upset about it. Phil likes to remind me that I am older than him, which does sting b/c he's 28 for another month, but I've accomplished quite a bit in my 30 years. So bite me Phil! :)
