SETTLERS OF CATAN

Well, we went to the Meyerson's tonight for a fabulous meal (spagetti and salad w/ pineapple weird punch) and then locked the kids into Lexi's room/playroom w/ the babygate and we 4 played Settlers. It's not really child abuse if we're talking to them occasionally and smiling at them, is it? It was a good game full of ups and downs. We talked some smack, did some mean trades, but the harsh reality is that Phil is just better than we are. He won again and continues his reign as Lord of Catan. Now, I must emphasize however that he spent much of the day doing some major strategy research on the internet which was cheating but also ingenious. So, tomorrow during naptime you'll find me doing the same research. Well, probably not. But right now I'm pumped up and want to. During naptime you'll probably find me doing some maintenance on this house. I'm pretty sure Travis will definitely be scouring the web for some helpful hints. I tried to team up w/ him towards the end to beat Phil down, but it was to no avail.
By the way, we've decided Jenny is on the cover w/ the large chest.

So, anywho. That's what we did today.

Who says white men can't jump?

When it's too buggy or rainy outside you will often find us inside doing a jumping contest. Not sure why, but we do. So don't be too judgemental. Phil's brother Tim is the overall winner, but come on the guy is 6'5", why WOULDN'T he win?

Travis appears to be hung, but he's not...

Why is Cydney doing the monkey arms? Why?!?!

Travis' sister Jodi grabbing her bum?

Phil is such a show-off!!!

Jenny appears to be doing a belly-flop?

Where do I begin?

One reason I never started a blog is b/c it's like a journal. I couldn't ever keep up with it so I stopped b/c it stressed me out all the back-logging I'd have to do. I remember doing like 6 months worth and it would just put me over the edge. So now I've started one and do I just start w/ what happened today? B/c really all I did was say good-bye to my mom (she watched our kids while we were at Youth Conference yesterday) and then did laundry. Oh, and paid some bills. Are you thrilled by this? Probably not.

So I'll quickly discuss what we've done this summer. WE moved into our sweet house that has been both awesome and painful at the same time. My OCD doesn't allow me to just enjoy being here, it makes me stare at all the flaws and makes me want it fixed NOW. But it's coming along and we're just so blessed to be here.

WE've had several visitors and get togethers that we normally woudln't have b/c of space, and so it's been fun. Wiffle ball is now a way of life, as is catching bugs and throwing the frisbee. Tyler is so awesome on the old swing. He can help Chase into the baby swing and hold both ropes and swing together. That's pretty sweet when it's hot out and I want to watch them play from the air-conditioning.

We just had a fun camping trip in the Pocono's w/ the Meyersons. Well, we only camped one night, and then did a hotel for 2, but it was still sweet. We hiked, boated, ate, went on a fun train ride, played Settlers of Catan. Phil is the Lord of Catan by the way-It's gotten to his head. We also attended the Hill Family Reunion (phil's) which is always a trip. Enough said.

Oh, Phil's brothers wife also had a cute little gal named Hunter Rose. We're excited to have a female born on the Barno side, perhaps there's hope for me?

So that's about all. We seriously work on our house alot. While I sit here we have a worker fixing our kitchen walls so that I can paint and then that's it for craziness. I hope to do some swimming, beaching, zooing, etc.

So, I guess I'll keep you updated!!

Forceful Start

That's right...I started this blog for them...
